Opening a Zipped File
A Student, Faculty, or Staff member receives a zip file by email and cannot retrieve the content from it.
The zipped file has been incorrectly saved the zip file and has not had the content extracted. They may be receiving the below error:
- Save the Zip file to their desktop, or a location they can easily access the content.
- Right click the file select “Extract All” from the menu:
- (1) Update where the new extracted file should be saved (hit “Browse” to open a file explorer to navigate to the best location) and (2) click “Extract”:
- A new file will appear where you entered in the previous step that will not be zipped, with all the files and/or folders from the original zipped file. This content will be easily accessible.
