Adding Linked Content in a Blackboard Message

A Student or Faculty member experiences an issue with a link that was copy-pasted to Blackboard linking to the wrong site.

Cause

This can be due to copy-pasting the link directly to the message body, which will on occasion cause part of the link to not be hyperlinked to the correct site.

Resolution

1. Open the message box where you will enter your content:
2. Click the link button:
3. (1) Paste the link into the “URL” field, (2) enter the text that should be displayed in the “Text to display” field, (3) update the “Open link in…” field to “New Window” so the content does not replace the existing Blackboard page, and (4) click Save to add the link to your message:
